Dowerin District High School has developed a number of policies and procedures which reflect our school context. All school policies are endorsed by the School Board and reviewed regularly. BEHAVIOUR MANAGEMENT
We believe the school environment should be safe and caring for all members of the school community. Bullying, violence and harassment are not tolerated in any circumstances.
Behaviour Management practices at Dowerin District High School are restorative in nature and seek to educate students towards self-regulated positive behaviour that is respectful to all concerned.
SPORTS CARNIVAL POLICIES
All children participate in the Faction carnival with teams to be selected for Interschool events.
ALLERGY ANAPHYLAXIS AWARE GUIDELINES
Some students at Dowerin District High School have been medically diagnosed with the potential to suffer sudden and life threatening anaphylactic reaction to nuts. Parents are asked not to include food containing nuts for their children to consume at school.
MOBILE PHONE AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE POLICY
There are many useful electronic devices used in our community and it is acknowledged that many of our students use mobile phones and other electronic devices every day. To maintain student focus at school and ensure security of such equipement, all students are required to hand their electronic devices in to the front office when they arrive at school. They will be available for collection at the end of the day.

DRESS REQUIREMENT POLICY
All schools have dress requirements for students which are developed by School Councils in consultation with students, their parents and staff of the school.
Dowerin DHS dress requirements are tangible evidence of the standards expected of students. The dress requirements play an important role in promoting a positive image of the school and creating a sense of identity among students.
