Regional Teacher Development School - Mathematics and Science
The Teacher Development School (TDS) initiative promotes the sharing of high level curriculum expertise and innovation across schools, networks and professional learning communities.
Dowerin District High School was invited to become a Teacher Development School for Mathematics for 2014/15 and this was expanded in 2016/17 when we became a Regional Teacher Development School for Mathematics and Science. We have been able, and will continue, to provide support for teachers and schools to

better implement the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline,

improve mathematics and science curriculum knowledge

deliver effective teaching practices in mathematics,

use whole school approaches to numeracy
Support for other teachers and schools is offered through the delivery of face to face and online professional learning, school visits, workshadowing, webinars and networking.
